This article is not another "buy my stuff" article. Yes, Eric does have a sales offer at the end of the presentation; however, he gives a ton, yes a ton of information in his presentation that you normally would have to pay for. Keep in mind that this is a presentation that he usually charges people to attend/view. In fact, he's going pull the free link to the recording of the presentation soon (if he's not already done so) and replace it with a purchase link. It's that good.

I understand your frustration. Rule one is to say away from the forums. People who post in forums (in general) do not provide the answers you're looking for.

I don't recommend or provide links to anything or anyone that I don't believe in. It has to provide value, not just an affiliate payment to me. Eric Graham is one of the best there is for improving conversion rates. You can spend hours going through the free information on his blog and gain enough knowledge to really improve any site you may have.

As for where to start, just look at my blog roll and read my posts. I don't put anyone in my blog roll that does not provide good, valid, usable information. They all have loads of free information that's extremely valuable on their blogs and web sites (as do I). Terry Dean, Eric Graham, Joe Vitale, Michel Fortin, and James Brausch all have mentoring or coaching programs you can sign up for and they will help you achieve your goals. This does cost, but it's worth it.
