The fires in California were tragic for a lot of people - my heart goes out to them.
Joe Vitale started a firestorm of his own the other day when he made a post on his blog about the fires in San Diego. He posted that some of the homes NOT destroyed by the fires near San Diego belonged to some of his fellow stars from the movie "The Secret". He said he thought it was interesting that their homes were not burned while homes close by were destroyed.
I agree with Joe, it is very interesting. Joe's post stirred up emotions and reactions that were very polarized. In other words he made a lot of people very mad! Joe was attempting to explain his view that the Law of Attraction has something, no everything, to do with the outcome of each person affected by this event.
For example, if it starts raining and Joe and I, and 50 other people, are standing outside in a field, we're going to get wet. Or, if it's dry and hasn't rained for a long time, and lightning or an arsonist starts a fire, some things in and around that field, and possibly some of the people standing in the field with me are going to get burned. The Law of Attraction states that your thoughts attract things into your life. How each of the 52 people standing in that field experiences the rain or fire is a result of THEIR thoughts and actions.
I don't believe for one minute that Joe is saying his associates, whose houses did not burn, are better people than those who lost everything. He is not necessarily saying that the people whose houses burned attracted the fire to burn their houses, but RATHER, it's possible those people he mentioned, whose houses DID NOT burn, attracted that outcome, i.e. attracted that safety zone.
The fires happened. For some (a large number of people) it was a very tragic event. Like a lot of tragic events, there are a few "survivors" who seemingly escape the epicenter of damage unscathed. It's a fact that the people Joe mentioned have houses that did not burn. I don't think Joe's post was obscene, insensitive, uncaring, or any of the other things being posted about him. He was stating facts and his opinion on those facts, nothing more.
In fact, some would argue that, in my example above, only one person standing in the field was a real distinct entity and the other 51 only existed in the consciousness of that one person. They may go on to say that the field didn't really exist either and that it too only existed in the consciousness of only one person. I'm glad Joe didn't go THAT far, he would certainly have been stoned, burned at the stake, or something worse!
Until next time,
Fred
P.S.
I've never met Joe; I've read a lot of his writings and listened to some of his audio material. I believe him to be a caring and compassionate person. I do look forward to meeting him at some point in the near future.
