Regularly creating articles yields more visitors.

There's a lot of misinformation out there on how to get "massive amounts of traffic to your web site". To make matters worse, if you just skim the headlines and lightly read the web sites/blogs/forums/posts etc. from various "experts", the truth and the untruths look very similar.

Use the "If it sounds to good to be true it probably won't work" measuring stick and you'll save yourself a lot of frustration.

There are several basic methods to get traffic to a website.
1) Buy it by placing an ad on another web site that has traffic.
2) Exchange links with other sites.
3) Put content relevant to your product/service/organization on your site, or on another site, so that people searching for what you offer can find you.
4) Encouraging people to tell other people about your site by using various promotions, gifts, etc.

There are a lot of variations and combinations of these methods.
Number 1 can work well if you carefully choose where to advertise and you have the money to pay for it.

Number 2 can work well, but can take a lot of time and effort to build up. If you use a tool such as Hermusa Link Building Software it is easier.

Number 4 can work really well if you give people a good reason to spread the word.... If you use gifts for referrals, etc, then this costs money. A lot has been written about how to get a site to go "Viral", where people tell everyone they know about the site and traffic just explodes with a massive amount of visitors. But being realistic, I don't believe that there's a formula that can be replicated to make a site go "Viral": if it happens, it's great, but the factors that create it are more like the making of a "Perfect Storm" and they just don't come together all that often.

So that leaves number 3, putting relevant, valid content out there that people can find, and that will lead them back to you and your web site. In the Internet Marketing arena, this is usually called "Article Marketing" or some variation. For "Article Marketing" to work, and for it to keep working over time, you have to create content that is useful, truthful, readable, and, that will stay listed by the various search engines. This pretty much rules out PLR (Private LabelRights) articles - articles that are created, sold, and resold with the right to put your name on them. This is one of the things I was referring to in the beginning paragraphs - PLR on the surface seems valid and a good way to get a lot of articles for a good price. But the content is usually inferior and since so many people have them, they're everywhere - search engines are smart enough to filter out duplicate content. Marketers of PLR articles suggest that you tweak and rewrite them... most people don't. There are various software products available to automatically do this for you, but what you usually end up with are articles poor in quality AND not always very readable. This may boost traffic initially but will fail over the long term.

What does work? Writing articles yourself and doing it on a regular basis. You don't have to crank out "War and Peace" once a week; you don't even have to be a great writer. Simply write about what you know, what you like, what your web site offers, etc. and do it twice a week, or once aweek, or even every two weeks. You then submit the article to publications and web sites in hopes that they'll use and/or publish it. It's not all that desirable to submit to "article directories" as they are pretty much full of junk, automated articles. How do we keep our article listed in the search engines? I recommend using a tool such as Artemis Pro Article Submission Software that creates readable iterations of your article in an intelligent way. This software submits slightly different versions of the article to a huge number of web sites and publications that are already in its database, web sites and publications that will probably publish your article. When the search engines come across your article listed on one of these sites, it is different than the other copies that were submitted and the search engine will not see it as duplicate content and it will stay listed. Smart, very smart! You can make Artemis Pro even easier to use with this software product I've created: Artemis Pro Pre-Processor: Automates creating ArtemisPro text files. this is important because regularly creating articles will yield more visitors to yoursite.

In summary, there are valid products and methods available to generate traffic to your web site. Use common sense and good judgment to filter out the truth from the lies. If you put in a little time and effort, it will pay off. Water follows the path of least resistance and so do most people - make the job of writing and submitting articles easier with the products I've mentioned and you'll enjoy more success because you'll find yourself submitting more articles more often.

Thanks for listening!
